Special guest speaker was Ohio Supreme Court Justice Maureen O’Connor, our candidate for Chief Justice, who talked about the importance of judges interpreting the law based solely on the Constitution, rather than politics or philosophy. Many thanks to the Republican Women’s Club for another wonderful event!

FOURTH OF JULY PARADE: FUN IN THE HEAT

Dozens of Republican candidates, office holders, and supporters braved the 94 degree heat to ride and walk in the Chesterland 4th of July parade. Special thanks to Blake Rear for providing the float, Ken and Jan Blair for pulling it, Claudine Kozenko for recording the festivities, and especially to Mike Rear, who sweltered in the furry elephant costume. He danced along the entire parade route, passing out candy. After the parade, the survivors endured even more heat with a picnic at Sunnybrook Preserve. Let’s hope the upcoming elections are just as hot as the temperatures were Monday!
