GEAUGA GOP CELEBRATES LINCOLN DAY
About 150 Republicans gathered at EOUV Hall in Russell Township March 26 to celebrate the life of Abraham Lincoln, America’s first Republican President. The evening included recitation of the Gettysburg Address by 10-year-old Katherine Roegner, the reading of LIncoln’s “Nots” sayings by her 7-year-old sister Kaitlin (both daughters of State Rep. Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson), a keyn0te speech by U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci (R- Wadsworth), an address by Ohio Supreme Court Justice Terrence O’Donnell, and brief speeches by our three candidates for Chardon Municipal Court Judge–Dan Bond, Dennis Coyne, and Matt Lynch. Special guests included Party Chairs from Lake, Ashtabula, Portage, and Trumbull Counties and most Geauga County officials. Longtime volunteer Carole Cialella received the annual Patterson Award for outstanding service to the party. The evening was capped off with a lively Chinese auction.
